The architect, who after the rest is HERMOSO Y HEIMANNSFELD The Museum of the City of San Fernando de Henares is integrated within the typology of the Museums of History. This museum is a living testimonial of the cultural heritage of a public nature. Moreover, it provides to the community access to knowledge and recreation of the city history, to recognize it through the acquisition, conservation, research and dissemination of the tangible and intangible heritage that constitutes the historical memory of San Fernando de Henares. The museum is a center with a permanent nature, living and dynamic. It aims to contribute the knowledge of the city, generating new spaces to encourage an exchange of ideas and putting to the service for citizens present historical heritage through the development of exhibitions, education, research and publications.

The city museum is located in the Square of Spain, in the building 16. and on the Coslada street 13. The first of the buildings is constructed in the 18th century as a dwelling house for workers from The Royal Factory. The second one was a barn in the rear of those dwellings,was built in the 19th century. From the day of 9th of November these two properties form a part of The Catalog of Protected Properties and included in the Historic Preservation area declared by The Royal Decree 3312, BOE( Official State Journal)12.1.84, today´s asset of Cultural Interest.

In addition, thanks to its heartfelt citizens, the Museum is integrated into a larger project, such as rehabilitation and restoration. The original nucleus of the city of San Fernando de Henares, the one, that was defined by the initial layout and framed with an urban baroque, around which the city would expand in the following centuries, and that configures the defining characteristic of the city.

In numbers, totally it will be built 176 residential houses 49 of which will be cataloged in The Square of Spain and the others in the back side of the square ( streets Coslada, Gonzalo de Cordoba also a part of Pizarro street and Avenue of the Constitution). Fifty six of them are reserved public houses and later will be removed by the municipality in its time to raffle between applicants. It is also planned to build fifty one local shop, although there could be some variation in the final number of constructions. The owners will have 267 car parking places (one for each household), while the municipality has planned the construction of a large underground car park to be located under the same square. By the plans it should have a capacity for 610 vehicles besides the recovery of the whole public space for vicinal and social use, respecting four quarters currently held by the environment, all the trees, even hospitality towards the area for events, entertainment for children and elderly people.
